RT VIDS: OLD MAN MARKLEY – “The Science Of Myth”

by ROCKTHOUGHT.COM | FOLLOW on FACEBOOK | FILED in PHOTOS,VIDEOS

Just an unbelievable bluegrass/punk/rockabilly band. OLD MAN MARKLEY – now on Fat Wreck Chords, still out and about touring in support of their debut full-length LP entitled Guts ‘N Teeth (released January 18, 2011).

OMM was founded in 2007 down in the San Fernando Valley. They began jammin’ on some bluegrass standards and some covers of some other crazy un-bluegrass songs – done bluegrass style.  Eventually, the band’s members were able to settle in with a sound that combines everything that they all loved about all of the different styles of music that they grew up with.

Now, after three years going strong, the band hooked up with Joby Ford (of L.A. punk band – The Bronx) to record their debut album – Guts ‘N Teeth. OMM has already shared the stage with countless legendary punk rock acts from NOFX, Flogging Molly, Against Me!, Bad Religion, Wanda Jackson, the Devil Makes Three, Youth Brigade, and The Reverend Horton Heat. We were luckier than sam hell to catch ‘em quick on a FFF6 Nites after-show at the Mohawk on Saturday. I LOVE this band!
