If you’re familiar with the grunge-y, space-y post-hardcore band HUM, you may know them from their successful 1995 radio hit “Stars.” The original band members formed back in 1989, and became known for hooking up with legendary producer/engineer Steve Albini to record their first demo in Chicago.
The band has gone through several members and musicians over the years, and they haven’t officially been doing too much together as an active recording or touring group since 2000. While many of HUM’s current members have played (and continue to play) in different bands and projects, the band seems to be re-uniting for some occasional club shows, and festival one-offs. FFF6 2011 happened to be one of them. And needless to say, we were daaaaaamn lucky. AMAZING.
