First of all, this band is absolutely INSAAANE!!! Like hellacious mega-riff total southern rock badass INSANE (actually, these blokes are a bunch of super rad, totally down to earth southern-fried Rawk’n Rollers – but you get the gist).
DIESEL & DIXIE. Get familiar with that name. Because as long as they keep their shit together, you could be hearing about these guys for a lawwwng while – right up there with names like AC/DC, VALIENT THORR, ZEKE, SKYNYRD, HANK WILLIAMS (and maybe even along with some other southern/metal acts like MASTODON and BLACK TUSK).
Obviously, we’re pretty excited about this band – and equally just as excited for these guys as they head out over the next month with WE WERE WOLVES on the “Ridin’ Gators For Haters” tour. D&D’s new album ‘Shortwave Rodeo’ was also officially released to the masses this week (up’air top right). And now [finally] we can all bless our ears and necks with eight tracks of pure southern-fried rawk n’ roll wickedness.
Here’s some pics and miscellany from the record release/tour kick-off party on 3.20.12 at Headhunters in Austin. These guys rock harder than a barrel of swamp buzzard bear wolves on a high speed chase after the iron hell herd. And they’ll be tearin’ up the southern panhandle over the next month. So get your howlin’ hillbilly hind-ends out there, get the new record, and show these southern-fried shredbeards some huckleberry headbangin’.
